Prof. Dr. Martin Kuentz

Martin Kuentz lectures since 2007 at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland where he became a professor of Pharmaceutical Technology in 2008. He leads a research group in the field of lipid-based formulations and solid dispersions to cope with oral delivery of poorly water-soluble drugs. A particular focus is here on Quality by Design aspects of formulation development. Prior to his academic assignment, Dr. Kuentz spent seven years at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in pharmaceutical research and development of oral formulations. The preceding PhD thesis was about physical pharmacy of tablets under the supervision of Professor Leuenberger at the University Basel where Prof. Kuentz studied earlier pharmacy and physical chemistry to graduate in 1995 as a pharmacist. Professor Kuentz has more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals to his name and has given numerous scientific presentations at international conferences and workshops. He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Pharmazeutische Verfahrenstechnik (APV), the Swiss Society of
Industrial Pharmacists (GSIA), and of Catedra Iberoamericana-Suiza de Desarrollo de
Medicamentos (CISDEM).
